Senior Accountant

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, ensures the accuracy of
financial records, and supports month-end and year-end close processes. This role analyzes
financial data, prepares key reports, strengthens internal controls, and partners with leadership
to guide financial decision-making.  The Senior Accountant work location is Accu-Glass in St. Louis, Missouri.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reconciliation and direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual and quarterly budgets, and ad hoc reports requested by executive management.
  • Oversee the adequacy of inventory management processes, assuring the ongoing accuracy of raw material, WIP and finished goods inventory balances
  • Partner with operations to evaluate capital expenditures, ROI, and long-term capacity planning.
  • Maintain financial documentation required for audits, regulatory inspections, and quality management systems.
  • Perform a monthly review and reconciliation of revenue and expense accounts and cash receipts and disbursements to subledgers and supporting documentation.
  • Process weekly payroll.
  • Prepare, post, verify, and record payroll entries on a weekly basis; partner with Human Resources to assist in the tracking of payroll expenses, benefits administration, and other related items (e.g., Paid Time Off).
  • Assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures and long-term strategic planning.
  • Assist accounting staff and executive management with tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Payroll management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Proficient with Accounting Information Systems (AIS).
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting and management.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion as required.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance (Required)
  • Certified Management Accountant (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience ("Big Four" experience a plus)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
